Recently, the bronze medal winners of the recently ended NFKA "A Lyga" championship, the football players of "Atlantas," were left without a head coach.
Today (11/31), Vacys Lekevičius announced that he is leaving his position as the coach of the Klaipėda club, citing frequent conflicts with law enforcement as the main reason, as well as mentioning that the team could benefit from changes.
The coach, known for his temperamental character and outbursts, recently faced a court trial because he was accused of assaulting a police officer. Today, he was fined 3500 litas for this offense.
Having been the head coach of "Atlantas" for six years, V. Lekevičius will still remain in the port city and will take on the position of club president.
