Robinho claims that his career at "Man City" did not go well because the coaches did not want to understand him. The Brazilian also did not hold back sharp words for the city of Manchester.
"Neither Mark Hughes nor Roberto Mancini understood me," said the footballer to "The People." "Perhaps they only thought about the sports side, but that was not enough for me.
"There was too little communication between the club representatives and the players. It felt like working in an office - to practice and goodnight, to matches and goodbye. I am Brazilian and I cannot show my best game if I am not satisfied with every aspect of life.
"That was my problem. I am a special player and I have to feel happy playing. That was the case at Real Madrid, but never at Man City. Maybe I should not have left the Spanish club."
He continued: "I was supposed to move to London's Chelsea with Luiz Felipe Scolari, but at the last moment, Man City appeared and I agreed. The negotiations were between clubs, so I am not responsible for what someone else paid. Mark Hughes called me and encouraged me to join the team. That played an important role in my decision-making."
At the beginning of his career in the Premier League, Robinho shone, but later lost his place in the main lineup of the English team.
"Living in England is not easy, it was difficult for me to adapt," he insisted.
"When I arrived, they told me that after two years we would surpass Man Utd, but time passed and nothing changed. Manchester is a special place for football, but tragic for life. Winter, cold, dark nights... It is very difficult for a young Brazilian."
This summer, Robinho signed a long-term contract with the Italian club, Milan."
