Milan President Massimo Moratti denies that there are too many older football players in the team.
It is said that the Italian champions will not be able to repeat last year's feat - winning three prestigious trophies - because the team still has older football players, while young talents like Mario Balotelli leave.
"We are not an old team. After all, we won not 10 years ago, but just two months ago," Moratti said.
"Furthermore, we are focusing on youth: we already have them in the team, others will arrive during the season.
"Other clubs have strengthened, but that doesn't make me pessimistic. We have decided that buying just for the sake of buying is not meaningful."
And he continued: "I don't understand the pessimism regarding coach Rafael Benitez. He knows how to overcome comparisons with the past. Moreover, fans are on the Spaniard's side because they understand his philosophy."
