Fabio Capello has confirmed that he will leave the England national team after the 2012 European Championship.

The specialist from the Italian national team took over in early 2008, but failed to achieve impressive results in his debut tournament - the World Cup. His team was already eliminated in the round of sixteen.

It was rumored that Capello could be fired, but the English football authorities gave him another chance.

"Definitely yes," the coach said when asked if he will step down after the tournament in Poland and Ukraine. "Of course, first we have to get there, but then I will be too old."

And he added: "I want to enjoy retirement life."
