Michael Owen doesn't hide the fact that he still hopes to receive an invitation to the England national team.
The "Man Utd" footballer last represented his country in March 2008. Since then, coach Fabio Capello has been inclined to rely on other forwards, such as Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe, and Peter Crouch.
"I hope I will still wear the national team shirt," said Owen, who has represented England 89 times. "I have experienced quite a few injuries, but the number of matches played is impressive both in clubs and in the national team. Sometimes I think that my tendency for injuries is talked about too often.
"Now I arrive at training at 9 o'clock in the morning. I prepare for work, meet with a physiotherapist who examines me, and then start training."
