Oscar Tabarez has signed a new long-term contract and will stay at the helm of the Uruguayan national team until 2014.
There were concerns that after a successful World Cup, where the Uruguayans reached the semi-finals, the specialist might step down, but the two-month negotiations finally ended successfully.
It is added that the 63-year-old Tabarez, who has managed clubs like "Milan" and "Boca Juniors" during his career, has seen a significant increase in his salary.
