London is trying to acquire the services of Sevilla's right-back Jesus Navas, based on sources in Italy reported by "Talk Sport".
It is said that the English champions are willing to pay 20 million euros for the Spaniard.
The 24-year-old footballer is a product of Sevilla's youth team, but so far he has refused to extend his contract, which expires in the summer of 2012.
The deal is also boosted by the fact that Sevilla would not want to sell one of their leaders to rivals in the Spanish championship - "Barcelona" or Madrid's "Real" teams.
