Until the end of this season, Edinburgh has borrowed a forward from Lithuania Valdas Trakys.
The 31-year-old footballer, who represented the Greek team "Panserraikos", spent some time on trial with the Scottish team.
"I am very happy to have signed a contract with Hibernian - it is a great club with a rich history and ambitious plans for the future," said Trakys.
Trakys will have to compete for a place in the main lineup with three forwards - Derek Riordan, Colin Nish, and 20-year-old Danny Galbraith.
"Throughout my career, I have always tried to bring immediate benefits to the team, and I will try to do the same in Edinburgh," added the forward, who has represented the Lithuanian national team 11 times. "I have talked to some compatriots who are at Hearts club, and they told me how wonderful this city is, and football should suit my style."
