In the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, eight more Round 1 matches were played.
The ambitious Madrid club "Real" started their journey successfully, defeating Amsterdam's "Ajax" 2-0 at home.
The Spanish vice-champions dominated the field and scored the first goal after just over half an hour, when Gonzalo Higuain sent the ball into the net after a corner kick.
After failing to double their lead for some time, the Madrid players finally did so after the break, with Higuain scoring again.
England's Premier League leader, London's "Chelsea", continued their impressive performances, easily crushing "Zilina" 4-1 away.
The goals for the winners were scored by Michael Essien, Nicolas Anelka (2), and Daniel Sturridge.
