For the first time in over a decade, Argentina has become the country with the most professional football players exported to other continents.
A study conducted by the sports marketing company "Euroamericas" shows that Argentinians playing in European and Arabian football leagues outnumber Brazilians.
Last year, Argentina had 1716 such footballers, while Brazil had 1443.
Over the past five years, the number of Argentine players exported, due to decreased requirements for foreign players in European leagues, has increased by 800 percent, and the total value of all transfers last year brought the country a profit of 90 million euros.
