According to the Spanish press, former coach of the Cameroon national team, Nicolas Philibertas, stated that the identity of the footballer had been falsified. Reportedly, he is not the 24-year-old Edel, but the 29-year-old Ambroise Beyama.
If this information proves to be true, Parisian team could have their victory in the Europa League match against Sevilla annulled, and the player could face jail time.
However, his representative, Christophe Bigotas, remained calm in an interview with "Marca" saying: "It's a misunderstanding. We are very calm because we have undeniable evidence that Philibertas is lying and Edel has never changed his identity."
