One of the best footballers on the planet, Lionel Messi, will not be able to play for up to three weeks due to injury.
The club's star got injured in Sunday's Spanish league match against Madrid's "Atletico" when he was brought down by opponent defender Tomas Ujfaluši. The Czech received a second yellow card and was sent off the field.
According to the press release, Messi strained the external ligaments of his ankle, but managed to avoid a bone injury.
"The videos speak for themselves. Not only Cristiano Ronaldo needs protection. Referees must protect footballers," said Barcelona's coach Pep Guardiola.
