Madrid's general director Jorge Valdano looks optimistically towards the future of the team.
Upon the return of President Florentino Perez to the club, Spanish vice-champions such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and coach Jose Mourinho joined the team.
"The implementation of the project has only just begun," Valdano officially told the "Real" website. "In the Champions League match against the Amsterdam 'Ajax' team, we showed that our limit is only the sky. It's been a long time since we played at this level. We know that we can be a great team.
"We are only focused on the present - the past does not play a significant role," he added. "Injuries that players suffer occur because training and matches are very intense. Football is a risky contact sport."
