Gerard Houllier officially signed a three-year contract with Birmingham on Friday and became the team's new head coach.
The 63-year-old specialist had agreed to become the team's strategist several weeks ago. The Frenchman will replace Kevin MacDonald, who temporarily coached the team after Martin O'Neil left.
G. Houllier will make his debut at the helm of the team in this weekend's Premier League match against Wolves.
