"Barcelona" defender Gerard Pique denies giving an interview about his teammate in the Spanish national team Fernando Torres and his future at the club, says renowned journalist Guillem Balague.
According to Balague, he spoke with Pique and the player denied the statements published in "The Daily Star" newspaper. The English newspaper's article quoted Pique, [link="http://www.eurofootball.com/index.php?page=news&id=21173"]stating[/link], that Torres should be ashamed to play for such a unambitious club only competing in the Europa League.
"Pique firmly denied commenting on these things," Balague said. "I spoke with Gerard and he confirmed that he did not speak with any 'Daily Star' journalist in general."
