On Tuesday, eight matches of the Champions League II round were played.
In a difficult but deserved victory, London's "Arsenal" club won in Belgrade, defeating the local "Partizan" 3-1.
There were fears that the match may not take place due to unruly fans, but the organizers managed to resolve the issues.
The guests took the lead after Andrei Arshavin's goal, but Cleo restored the balance by converting a penalty kick shortly after.
The decisive moment of the match occurred in the 57th minute, when Marko Jovanovic saw a red card. Although Arshavin failed to convert the penalty awarded by the referee, Chamakh scored in the 71st minute and Squillaci sealed the victory in the 84th minute.
In the early match, Moscow's "Spartak" easily defeated "Zilina" 3-0 in Group F, securing their second consecutive victory.
In the Group F duel, which, as usual for Russia, started a couple of hours earlier than the other matches, the hosts were led to victory by Brazilian legionnaires - striker Ari scored two goals and midfielder Ibson scored once.
Together with Chelsea, who defeated Marseille 2-0 thanks to goals from John Terry and Nicolas Anelka, the Russians lead the standings with 6 points. Zilina and the French team remain without points.
