Sometimes the celebration of a goal or victory during a football match can end in tragedy. Swiss football fans found this out for themselves - during a match between the "Schaffhausen" and "Servette" clubs in the highest division of Switzerland over the weekend, the defender of the latter team from Portugal lost a finger.

In this match, "Servette" simply outplayed their opponents 4-1, so after the match, celebrating the victory, Diogo jumped onto the wall separating the field from the stands. The player did not notice how his wedding ring got stuck in the wall and jumped down, leaving part of his finger between the wall structures along with the ring.

After this incident, the 29-year-old player was taken to a hospital in Zurich, where local doctors determined that it was not possible to sew the finger back on and amputated the remaining part.

It is worth mentioning that due to this action, Diogo not only lost his finger, but also received a yellow card for an overly emotional celebration of the victory.
