The Lithuanian national football team after the match with Spain will not travel to Turkey to play against the Saudi Arabian team.

The leaders of the Lithuanian team had already verbally agreed on a friendly match on October 12, contracts were ready, only signatures were missing. However, after delaying for a long time to confirm the match, the representatives of Saudi Arabia changed their minds.

"It is not only embarrassing that we had to wait for their official response for so long, but also that there is no longer enough time to arrange another friendly match," said Robertas Tautkus, the head of the national and youth teams department of the Lithuanian Football Federation.

The change in plans means that the Lithuanian national team will play a single match next month in the EURO 2012 qualifying round - on October 8 in Salamanca against the European and World champions, Spain.

In November, Lithuanians have offers to play friendly matches with the national teams of Israel or Northern Ireland. At the beginning of next year, the Lithuanian team plans to participate in a friendly tournament in Portugal or organize a training camp abroad. On March 29, Lithuanian footballers will meet Spain at home.
