The Spanish champions have offered to extend the current contract to the team's defender Dani Alves. The leaders of the Catalan club propose that the Brazilian extend the contract for another three years, as Alves' current contract is valid until the summer of 2012. It is reported that discussions between both parties are still ongoing, but the team's leaders would like all signatures on the contract to be put in place as soon as possible. Alves moved to Barcelona from Sevilla in the summer of 2008.
