Losses up to May 31, 2010 amounted to almost 140 million euros, writes the BBC.
Compared to the same period last year, losses increased by 35 million euros and are among the largest in the entire history of the English League.
Interestingly, the amount allocated for salaries of 153 million euros exceeded the total revenues received, which were 144 million. The growing salary bill was not only contributed by the acquisition of famous players, but also by hiring an additional 106 club employees.
Although for many companies such results would mean huge financial difficulties and potentially bankruptcy, there is no reason for concern for "Man City" fans - the club is controlled by billionaire Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who spares no expense to ensure that the team competes for top positions.
Since 2008, when Manchester City's management was taken over by Mansour, almost 350 million euros have been spent just on acquiring new football players.
