Despite the bomb explosion on Tuesday in the second largest city of Northern Ireland, Londonderry, the Italian national team plans to travel to play the European Championship qualifying tournament match against the local national team.

The meeting is scheduled to take place this Friday in the capital city of Belfast.

During the explosion, which caused no casualties, several buildings nearby were damaged.

"We are monitoring the situation and remain calm," said Italian team coach Cesare Prandellis.

At the moment, attacks by nationalist groups seeking Northern Ireland's independence have reached the highest level of danger since 1998.
