In the most important group I for Lithuanians, the Spaniards and Czechs celebrated victories, while the most memorable match took place in Group C, where just 7 minutes into the game, Italian and Serbian footballers returned to the locker rooms due to raging Serbian hooligans.

Azerbaijan caused a sensation in Group A by defeating Turkey 1-0 thanks to Rashad Sadygov's goal. This was the first points for the Azeris and the second failure for the Turks in 4 matches.

Belgian football fans witnessed an exciting thriller as their team drew 4-4 with Austria. Three goals were scored in the final 6 minutes, and the Austrians leveled the score in the third minute of added time with a goal from Martin Harnik.
