"Premier" league: the battle of titans ended peacefully © EuroFootball.com

Today in the English Premier League, two more matches of the seventeenth round were played. A particularly important and intense match took place at the "Highbury" stadium, where the local "Arsenal" twice failed to hold onto their lead against the ambitious "Chelsea" eleven, who do not hide their title-winning ambitions.

The first goal of the match came in the second minute, when after a pass from J.A.Reyes, T.Henry sent the ball into the net of P.Cech with a shot from the run. However, after just fifteen minutes, the visitors equalized the score when J.Terry headed in the ball after a corner kick lifted by A.Robben. Nevertheless, towards the end of the first half, "Arsenal" once again surged ahead after a quickly taken and accurate penalty shot from T.Henry.

At the start of the second half, the score became level once again. Just 46 seconds into the half, W.Gallas passed the ball to the Icelander E.Gudjohnsen, who headed it past the somewhat surprised goalkeeper M.Almunia. Towards the end of the match, both teams had several opportunities, especially good chances to score their third goal and secure the win, but T.Henry failed to capitalize on them, and the score remained unchanged.

In another match, a surprise came from the "Birmingham" club, located at the bottom of the table, who defeated "Aston Villa" away.
