Wayne Rooney sensationally changed his mind and agreed to sign a new five-year contract with the club.

However, on Wednesday everything changed: "The support and belief of coach Sir Alex Ferguson convinced me.

"I was worried that the team would weaken, but the fans have supported me from day one, so I will have to earn their love again."
Ferguson himself did not hide his joy: "I think now Wayne understands what a great club 'Man Utd' is. I am glad he agreed to set an example for the younger players and strive to enter the team's history. I believe we will all support him."
In recent days, rumors about the direction of the English national team striker's career have not stopped.
