Even the homeland of vuvuzelas, South Africa, is considering the possibility of banning the use of the famous instrument during football matches. True, for slightly different reasons than in the Old Continent.

During the World Cup, both television viewers and footballers complained that the favorite instrument of fans produces an unpleasant sound and hinders communication on the field. In Europe, many clubs have banned vuvuzelas from stadiums, and now Africans could follow this example.

Such sanctions were threatened after an incident in a country cup tournament match, when fans of the most popular team in the country, "Kaizer Chiefs," threw two vuvuzelas and ... a cabbage onto the field.

"If vuvuzelas continue to be used as weapons, we will ban them," said a representative of the country's football league.
