The scandalous attacker from Romania Adrian Mutu publicly apologized for breaking the waiter's nose.
The incident happened on Friday during a heated argument over an unpaid bill. According to witnesses, Mutu wanted to leave the nightclub without paying, and when the waiter stopped him, he hit him in the nose, claiming he had no intention of leaving without paying his debt.
Mutu is currently suspended for using banned substances, but should return to the field in the weekend match against "Catania".
"I sincerely apologize to the owners, employees, teammates, and fans of Fiorentina club. I understand that what happened could never have happened. I do not forgive myself because I acted foolishly," - said the Romanian in a statement not addressed to the victim.
