Almost seventy days underground, Chilean miners, calling themselves "Esperanza" ("Hope"), lost a friendly soccer match to their rescuers 2-3.

The match, in which each team had 16 players, lasted 40 minutes.

Leading the rescuers team was Chilean president Sebastian Pinera, who scored one goal. The captain of the miners was 53-year-old Franklin Lobos, who wore the national team jersey in 1980.
