Champions League second round draw brought together favorites © EuroFootball.com

Today, on Friday, at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon (Switzerland), the draws for the second stage of the UEFA Champions League were made, bringing together several European giants for exciting matchups.

In the quarterfinals, two teams considered favorites - London's "Chelsea" and "Barcelona" - will face each other. Another intriguing matchup will be between the teams of "Real" and Juventus, who have not met in a while.

As predicted by Sir Alex Ferguson, "Manchester United" will face the Italian champion "Milan" for the first time in a long time. Another battle will take place between the English champion "Arsenal" and the struggling "Bayern" club in recent years.

The defending champions "Porto" will meet "Inter", while last season's finalist "Monaco" will play against "PSV" participating in the quarterfinals for the first time. The champions of France and Germany, "Lyon" and "Werder", respectively, will face each other, while "Liverpool" will take on "Bayer" just like two years ago.

The first matches will take place on February 22-23, with the return legs scheduled for March 8-9.
