On Wednesday, the remaining matches of the country's cup tournament ("DFB-Pokal") second round were played in German stadiums.
Somewhat unexpectedly, the leaders of the "Bundesliga" championship "Mainz" footballers were eliminated from the competition with a 2-1 defeat against the Aachen "Alemannia" team.
However, this was not the only surprise - the tournament also ended for the "Hamburger", Dortmund's "Borussia", and Leverkusen's "Bayer" clubs.
The quarter-final matches will take place on December 21-22.
