The UEFA disciplinary committee awarded the Italian national team a victory over Serbia by technical result 3-0 due to hooligan behavior of fans in the interrupted match.

The match in Genoa lasted only a few minutes as the Serbian hooligans, who started to riot, posed a threat to the safety of the players and other spectators. The unrest later continued in the city streets.

However, Italians also did not escape sanctions for failing to control the visitors. They were fined 100,000 euros and will have to play one match behind closed doors. This latter punishment will only come into effect if similar disturbances occur again in the next two years.

Serbia will also have to play two matches without spectators, and one of them - under the same conditions as the Italians.
