Strategist Roberto Mancini insists he does not understand the tendency of footballers playing in Great Britain to consume alcohol.
Footage has emerged in the media showing four Manchester team footballers - Adam Johnson, Gareth Barry, Joe Hart, and Shay Given - having a good time at a student gathering and indulging in alcohol.
According to one of the youngsters, the stars were relaxed: "They were drinking and handing out autographs to everyone."
"I didn't see this footage, but I expressed my opinion to them about such things 10 days ago," said Mancini. "I don't understand it. The recording was made on Monday, which was a day off. Footballers can do whatever they want, but I don't understand why."
"I'm not happy. We play every three days, and it's not easy to fully recover in that time. I want to solve this problem in the dressing room, not in the press conference."
And he added: "I think we are not the only ones facing this issue, but many other players as well. For the British, this is part of their culture."
