Chelsea and Bayern Munich secured victories to advance to the knockout stages, as did Real Madrid who snatched a dramatic draw.
In Spain, Real Madrid earned a point away from home against Milan thanks to a goal from Pedro Leon, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.
The visitors took the lead with a goal from Gonzalo Higuain after a pass from Angel Di Maria, but after halftime, veteran Filippo Inzaghi capitalized on Iker Casillas' mistake to equalize, and soon after, turned the tide.
However, in stoppage time, Leon ruined the celebration for the home fans.
