The new head coach of the Argentine national team has been officially appointed Sergio Batista.
The 47-year-old specialist, whose youth team (up to 23 years old) triumphed at the 2008 Olympic Games, has signed a four-year contract.
He has been in charge of the national team since the end of this year's summer world championships, when Diego Maradona stepped down from his duties.
"I am fulfilling my dream and one of my life goals," said the former famous footballer. "I want us to achieve what we desire - the final matches of the 2014 World Cup."
