Yesterday in the English Premier League, two more matches of the eighteenth round were played. The teams considered favorites won in both matches.

The "Liverpool" club defeated "Newcastle" 3-1 at home, handing their opponents their seventh loss of the season. In the 32nd minute, after a goal by P. Kluivert, the visitors took the lead, but before halftime, "Liverpool" turned the score around thanks to an own goal by T. Bramble and a precise shot by N. Mellor. The hosts dominated in the second half and sealed the victory with a great goal by M. Baros in the 61st minute. By the way, the visitors finished the match with ten players, as L. Bowyer was sent off in the 77th minute for a second yellow card.

"Arsenal" players, on the other hand, had a much harder time, as they narrowly defeated "Portsmouth" 1-0 after a tough battle. The victory for the defending champions from London was decided by the first goal in sixteen months by defender S. Campbell.
