Fiorentina's goalkeeper Sebastian Frey will miss matches due to a leg injury for four to six months.
The club confirmed in a statement that the 30-year-old Frenchman will recover over approximately six months from the injury sustained during training.
"Tests have shown that surgery is necessary, which means the football player will only be able to return to the field after four to six months," the statement from Fiorentina reads.
The position of the main team's goalkeeper should be taken by the Polish player Artur Boruc.
