The star Wayne Rooney will spend the next week in the United States, where he will continue the rehabilitation process of his ankle with specialists.
The 25-year-old footballer, who caused a stir about a possible move to another club, ultimately signed a new long-term contract with the Manchester team and will not appear on the field for about three weeks.
"We have all the conditions here in Manchester, but we decided that it would be best to change the environment temporarily," said Manchester United assistant coach Mike Phelan.
He added: "We hope he will come back in good form."
