Two matches were played in the English Premier League on Tuesday.
The 6th place London club "Tottenham" had to settle for a draw against "Sunderland", with the match ending in a 1-1 result.
The first goal came in the 65th minute, when new signing Rafael van der Vaart headed the ball into the net after a pass from Peter Crouch.
However, soon after "Sunderland" equalized - striker Asamoah Gyan, who was also acquired this summer, found the back of the net.
In the other match, "Stoke" secured their first victory in 5 league matches, defeating "Birmingham" thanks to a late goal from Dean Whitehead.
