"Man City" - "Man Utd": Supporters' Thoughts (Part II) © EuroFootball.com

Portal [link="http://www.eurofootball.com"]"EuroFootball.com"[/link] continues the column "Fan Thoughts" which saw the light of day last week! From now on, before the most important, interesting, and highly anticipated matches, we will talk to supporters of teams entering the duel.

Approaching the derby of the English Premier League between and teams, the forum moderator and fan of "red devils" Tommy agreed to answer our questions.

"EuroFootball.com": How did you start supporting "Man Utd"? Have you been a fan of this club for a long time? What were the first "red devils" match you saw and what was the result?

Tommy: I started supporting them in 1999 when a friend came to football training wearing a "red devils" jersey with Giggs' name on the back. I got curious about who they were, etc. (I remembered Giggs' name because it sounded similar to "gipso" in Lithuanian).

The first match I saw was against the "Bayern" team. Yes, the same one, the 1999 Champions League final, the "20legend" goal, and "Man Utd" gained a new "glory-hunter" fan - me.

"EuroFootball.com": Which derby stands out most in your memory?

Tommy: Probably last year's derby when Owen scored a winning goal in the fourth or fifth minute of added time and snatched the victory for the "devils" with a score of 4 - 3. At least it was the most emotional derby. As we know, strong and pleasant emotions are the most memorable.

"EuroFootball.com": What makes "Man Utd" better than "Man City"?

Tommy: First of all, they wear red. Second, "Man Utd" has Ferguson, whose hairstyle is not like that of a 9-year-old girl. Third, the "red devils" are one of the best clubs in the world, have a consistent policy, nurture their own players, everything is done consistently, while "Man City" is currently just a parody and an object of ridicule, having bought second-rate "stars" for oil, who are more famous off the field than on it.

"EuroFootball.com": What will determine the outcome of the match on Wednesday?

Tommy: Fans, the ball, referees, linesmen, stadium, grass, players, players' footwear, stadium employees, coaches, assistant coaches, assistant coaches' assistants, fans' chants, Joe Hart's stuffed goalkeeping gloves, Ferguson's chewing gum, corner flags, mini-flags, and many other factors.

"EuroFootball.com": What do you fear most before the upcoming match?

Tommy: Injuries, or more precisely, illnesses that cut down "Man Utd" players. This could result in the "devils" having to deal with injured players on the field.

"EuroFootball.com": Which "Man City" player(s) would you most like to see in a "red devils" jersey?

Tommy: Adam Johnson. Who wouldn't want to see him in their own team?

"EuroFootball.com": Which opponent player(s) do you dislike the most?

Tommy: Carlos Tevez, Bellamy (well, the latter is loaned out fortunately), Lescott, Vieira, De Jong, Given, Adebayor, and many others. They've put together a "nice" team in blue. Especially Tevez is a "cool" player. I hope to see his very sad face again after the match.

"EuroFootball.com": What do you think about "Man City" spending in the transfer market?

Tommy: If such expenditures do not contribute to distorting market prices, I would consider it a good thing. The more new players after each season, the greater the chances of winning many trophies. "34 years and counting..."

"EuroFootball.com": What will be the final result of today's match? Who will score goals?

Tommy: It's hard to predict. I don't like such things. Of course, I would like a victory, but realistically knowing the situation in the "Man Utd" team... Let's say 2 - 2. Tevez, who is crazy, will try to score for the hosts, so let's say he will succeed (which I wouldn't want) and Silva will contribute as well. In the "devils" score sheet, there should be Berbatov and Scholes.

"EuroFootball.com": Can "Man Utd" win the English Premier League trophy this season?

Tommy: The opinion is changing a lot. A few rounds ago I would have said no, but now I think yes. "Chelsea" is stumbling and no longer demonstrates championship-worthy play. "Man City", "Arsenal", "Liverpool", "Spurs"... You understand that some will never grow to it, and it's just not meant for others to become champions.

LuKado: Was the information that Rooney intends to leave the club just a tactical maneuver by Ferguson and the striker to suppress the never-ending talk about the scandal with prostitution? And have you ever doubted that Rooney could leave the team?

Tommy: Why not? It sounds real and logical. However, we shouldn't dismiss the money factor. Nowadays, nothing surprises anyone, so the option, which was also discussed in the press, that Rooney was manipulated by his agent during weak English moments to make some extra money - is quite real (or maybe he wasn't manipulated. Perhaps "Shrek" wanted it himself).

Actually, that news shook me a bit, but I support the club, so I had already come to terms with the idea that Rooney might go somewhere else. In fact, I would feel much more sorry to let go of Fletcher than someone like Rooney.

"EuroFootball.com": Thank you for your time!
