Both teams defended reliably and seemed satisfied sharing a point.
"Man City" came closest to scoring before the break when goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar saved a long shot from Carlos Tevez. The visitors could have taken the lead after an acrobatic attempt by Dimitar Berbatov, but neither team deserved the victory.
After a weekend loss, league leaders "Liverpool" bounced back by defeating "Fulham" at home in a city derby with a minimal 1-0 result.
Michael Essien scored the only goal with a strong header in the 30th minute, but was later sent off for a rough challenge on Clint Dempsey.
The 'Blues' dominated the match but failed to capitalize on their advantage, having to withstand "Fulham" pressure towards the end.
Having failed to secure a fourth consecutive league win, "Liverpool" played to a draw with the relegation-threatened "Wigan" team away from home.
The visitors took the lead in the 7th minute with an impressive goal from the in-form Fernando Torres, but Hugo Rodallega equalized soon after the break by being the first to rebound Pepe Reina's saved shot.
In the second half, "Wigan" had more chances to score, with "Liverpool" captain Steven Gerrard coming closest to a goal by shaking the goal frame.
