Lithuanian national team and Danish vice-champion club defender Aurelijus Skarbalius has been loaned out to the league's bottom team for eighteen months.
The 31-year-old Lithuanian, who has played 190 matches for "Brondby" in the Danish league and represented his national team 60 times, has not been a key player in recent times in the team coached by the legendary M. Laudrup.
Since Skarbalius, who has been living in Denmark with his family for eight years, did not want to move to another country, he asked for a loan to another team last summer. The loan was arranged by the "Herfolge" club, which currently occupies the last place in Denmark after 18 rounds.
"I have never hidden the fact that I want to play 90 minutes in every match, and therefore I am satisfied with "Brondby's" efforts to make my move to "Herfolge" possible," said Skarbalius.
The rental agreement will come into force on January 1, 2005, and will end in July 2006 - A. Skarbalius will play for "Herfolge" for the rest of this season and the next. Interestingly, the former and future club of the Lithuanian met in the last round of the Danish championship, and the championship leader "Brondby" celebrated a victory with a score of 2-1.
