The Ukrainian Football Federation wants the famous Italian Marcelo Lippi to lead the country's national team in the 2012 European Championship.

The continental tournament will be held in Ukraine and Poland in less than two years.

According to "Gazzetta dello Sport," the attractive offer from Ukrainians has intrigued Lippi, who would like to return to top-level football.

The former coach of the Italian national team is expected to watch a friendly match between the national teams of Ukraine and Switzerland on Wednesday.

Currently, the team is temporarily led by Yuriy Kalitvintsev.
