London security Tom Huddlestone will have to lie on the operating table and will not be able to play for about three months.
The 23-year-old footballer has problems with his ankle, so he missed Sunday's match against Blackburn.
"After consulting with several specialists, we decided that the best course of action would be to have surgery," the club statement reads.
