Aquilani: I want to prove my worth and stay in Turin © EuroFootball.com

"Liverpool" club security guard Alberto Aquilani is happy to have rediscovered himself in Luigi Del Neri's coached team.

"We are doing well. In the championship, we are fighting for the top positions, but the team is not fully assembled yet. There are clubs that are better prepared to fight for the "Scudetto" at the moment," Aquilani began.

"Milan" is ahead of us, but this season we have beaten them and proved that with the right attitude and dedication, excellent results can be achieved."

Aquilani is currently one of the best safeties for the "old lady," in whom Del Neri has complete trust. The player believes that this is a serious incentive to stay in Turin.

"My time in the Juventus team is not a transitional period. I want to prove my worth and stay in Turin. Of course, much will depend on the clubs, but I know that my word holds weight.

"If the club decides to redeem my contract, then I will be happy to stay here."

After excellent performances in the national championship, Aquilani is happy to have regained his place in the Italian national team: "Regaining form immediately made me think about the national team. I succeeded and I want to thank Del Neri.

"I returned to Italy to start playing steadily again. Juventus' offer was timely and in the right place, so I couldn't refuse it because I knew I would have the opportunity to return to the national team.

"I am not surprised that I was called up to the national team after just a few championship matches. In fact, I felt good in the last games I played in England," Aquilani said."
