At the start of the match, the Faroese goalkeeper Jann Ingi Petersen shook the Scottish crossbar with a penalty kick, but afterwards the hosts dominated and took the lead in the 24th minute when Danny Wilson scored with a header.
Just seven minutes later, Kris Commons doubled the lead from close range, and right before half-time Jamie Mackie scored the third goal.
