North Ireland's "Glentoran" club striker Matty Burrows will compete against such high-profile stars as Lionel Messi or Arjen Robben for the title of the author of the most beautiful FIFA goal of the year.
FIFA has released a list of 10 candidates to receive the prestigious Ferenc Puskas Award.
Burrows' impressive strike with his heel from 17 meters became an internet sensation and brought fame to the footballer all over the world.
Among other nominees are Messi's goal against "Valencia" deceiving three defenders, a similar precise strike from London's "Arsenal" representative Samir Nasri in a match against "Porto", as well as an impressive long shot by Dutch national team veteran Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the World Cup semi-final against Uruguay.
Among the most beautiful goals are also South African national team member Siphiwe Tshabalala, who became the author of the first goal of the World Cup, "Santos" representative Neymar, and Turkish national team footballer Hamit Altintop.
The list is completed by 21-year-old "Hammarby" club striker Linus Hallenius, who demonstrated excellent ball control skills, and the only woman - Japanese Kumi Yokoyama.
