"Inter" trauma crisis continues: Chivu dropped out of the lineup © EuroFootball.com

Milan's defender Cristian Chivu dropped out of the lineup for two weeks due to a minor thigh injury and left the team with only three healthy nominal defenders.

The Romanian national team player was injured at the beginning of a friendly match with Italy and had to leave the field.

The coach of the Italian champions, Rafael Benitez, now has to cope without several key players: defenders Walter Samuel, Douglas Maicon, midfielders Joel Obi, Thiago Motta, Sulley Muntari, and forward Diego Milito. It is unclear if MacDonadas Mariga will be able to take the field against Verona's "Chievo" over the weekend.

Benitez is left with only three nominal defenders - Ivan Cordoba, Davide Santon, and Marco Materazzi.
