The club's sports director Andoni Zubizarreta insists that the team must focus on Wednesday's Champions League match against Athens' "Panathinaikos" and not think about the upcoming "El Clasico".
The great Spanish giants' clash will take place next Monday in the capital of Catalonia.
"The Champions League is extremely important, and these matches will have an impact on the teams' placement in the group," Zubizarreta said. "From the very beginning of the Spanish championship, it seemed like everyone was only waiting for 'El Clasico', but it would be meaningless if we didn't win matches before and after it."
