The Gelzenkirchen footballers, who experienced a devastating defeat in the German championship, will have to accept that the Christmas holidays will last only six days.

Such a decision was made by head coach Felix Magath, who did not hide his anger after the 0-5 loss to "Kaiserslautern."

It is interesting that some "Schalke" players have compared Magath's tough training sessions to military camps.

"Such a poor performance demands punishment," explained Magath. "There are too many players who pay too much attention to the Champions League and do not understand that our daily bread is the German championship, and we must play just as well in it."

"Schalke" currently occupies only 15th place in the national championship.
