After a shameful defeat to their fiercest rivals by a margin of five goals, Madrid strategist Jose Mourinho acknowledged the strength of the opponents.
According to statistics, in his impressive career, the Portuguese had never experienced such a crushing defeat by such a huge margin.
"One team played very well, the other very poorly. The victory was deserved, the defeat was deserved," Mourinho stated.
When asked if it was a humiliation, the Portuguese replied: "No. It's easy to accept such a defeat because we simply weren't good enough."
"I have always said that 'Barcelona' is already a finished product, while 'Real' is still in the long process of development. We must show character and after this loss, train hard, play and win," he added.
And he recalled a story: "Last year we came here with the 'Inter' team and lost, but after the new year we won and became Champions League winners."
