Madríd strategist Jose Mourinho has been disqualified for one Champions League match, and if he offends again within three years, he will have to miss an additional game.
Mourinho, along with his team's players Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos, were punished for improper conduct during the match against Amsterdam's "Ajax."
It is suspected that the coach ordered his players to deliberately receive a second yellow card and leave the field earlier. Since the result was a crushing 4-0, it was aimed at ensuring that the Spaniards would miss the last group match and not risk not playing in the important knockout stages next year.
Alonso and Ramos also received sanctions - they will have to pay a fine of 20,000 euros each. Mourinho's wallet will also be lighter - he will pay 40,000 euros.
Interestingly, the fine will also be paid by "Real" goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, who is suspected of passing on Mourinho's instructions to the players on the field.
Mourinho gives instructions, and the players carry them out.
